Email Marketing Blogs

If your business is not yet using email as a central part of its marketing strategy, you are missing out on one of the most effective forms of marketing there is. Email lets you reach a wide audience of potential customers for very little cost. Read the following article to learn more.

Develop a consistent format and schedule for your marketing emails. By doing this, your customers will learn when and what to expect. Find a professional template that suits your business and used it every time. Alert your customers to the most relevant information at the beginning of the email.

If you want your marketing via email messages to be successful, make sure you have permission to send them. If you do not have permission from your recipients, the potential consequences can range from being added to spam filters all the way up to getting blacklisted by Internet service providers themselves.

Do not use dollar signs in either the subject or the body of your emails, unless you are using just one to denote a specific amount of currency. This will strike many recipients as being spam my behavior, and many spam filters will automatically trash emails that include character strings like "$$$."

Get creative with your email designs to find out what works best. Send out a few emails with content and links that differ in their fonts and text color. Play around with image positioning, including buttons and logos. After you've sent the emails, find out which ones had the best click-thru rates. Stick with those for the time being, but change it up on occasion to see if you can find a method that works even better. More click-thru rates equate to more sales.

Be prepared to respond to emails if your e-mail marketing is done properly. If you take too long to respond, you may miss a bunch of opportunities. If you provide good content that is free, be prepared to get responses to it from your recipients. You must be prepared and available as much as you can.

Find out who your competitors are and sign up to their emails. You will be able to see what content, they are sending to their subscribers and figure out what aspects to use and which to stay away from. Just be sure not to steal their content, as this could constitute plagiarism.

Develop content that is interesting and informative to your customer base. The message should be engaging, and not filled with dry, boring content. The recipients are more likely to read it all the way through if it is not too long. As they see that your content is relevant, your reputation will grow.

Have a strong call to action in your email marketing campaign and position it to be seen. You shouldn't make it difficult for your email readers to know exactly what you want from them. If it's too hard to figure out, then your email will most likely be quickly deleted. Instead, offer a clear call to action and deliver it in a way that can't be missed.

Include in every email calls to action. Your readers need to understand what they need to do by you simply telling them in your emails. If the email contains links, make them stand out and also provide instructions on how to use them. You can include your links at the top and at the bottom of your emails for more exposure.

It may sound obvious, but it is very important to ensure that you store correct email addresses. A simple formatting error or typo can result in dozens of messages that are bounced back to you as unable to be delivered. This just wastes your precious time!

There are zombie email addresses, and people do sell them. This not only wastes your time, but it keeps your messages from getting to the right targeted customers. Make sure you know what you are getting into, and make sure you are sending messages to people that could actually do business with you.

Make sure your subscribers know what they are getting into when they sign up for your marketing via email campaign. Setting expectations is highly important to the success of your campaign. You can have many people sign up, but with the wrong expectations, you end up just disappointing many people and losing customers.

Constantly refine your email list. Keep it well-protected and make sure that every address that is listed is a good one. Just, one bad one can completely sabotage your campaign and possibly your business. Go down your list and question why that address is there and what it means to your campaign. You can get better results from your campaign this way.

There is nothing wrong with composing your marketing emails in HTML, but you may find it rewarding to give it a break from time to time. A simple message composed in plain text will be taken as a little more intimate and a little less formal by your subscribers. If you exercise moderation, sending plain text emails can encourage loyalty and draw your readers closer to you.

Tell your customers up front what they can expect from your email marketing campaign. Include information at opt-in that will let your customers know if they can expect to hear from you monthly, quarterly, or more often. Tell them what you will include. Whether it be sales, coupons, or special promotions.

When delivering communications to your subscriber list, ensure that the message contains your logo and colors of your brand. Your customers will be familiar with your company's traditional logos and will associate the colors and designs you use on your website with your business. Consistently matching the look of your emails to the look of your website will make them look very familiar and prevent them from getting deleted.

The more you learn about email marketing, the more you should realize just how effective a marketing technique it can be. Once you start using email to promote your business, you will never turn back.
